In honor of William Shakespeare's birthday, the Friends of the Library are hosting a very special guest - Frank Mowery of the Folger Shakespeare Library. The Folger Library has just completed its 75th anniversary. Growing from inspiration by Ralph Waldo Emerson, the founders of the library decided to locate their collection in Washington D.C. and opened in 1932. From this extensive collection, the Folger Library now includes Folger Theatre productions, early-music concerts by the Folger Consort, Folger Poetry, fiction readings through the PEN/Faulkner Foundation, the New Folger Library Shakespeare editions, and a lively array of education offerings for teachers, students, and families. Please come for this special event and stay to enjoy the other many activities planned for the day at the Francis Harvey Green Library.
A special breakfast meeting is planned at the Philips Autograph Library on April 23 beginning at 8:30 - Please RSVP to Stephen Marvin smarvin@wcupa.edu, 610-436-1068. Cost for this event is $15, other library events for the day are free.
