Events of the day will start off on the Quad at 12:30pm, where WCU students will be cavorting in a very Elizabethan fashion. Events will then move up to the 6th Floor of FHG Library, where food and drink will be served and a variety of WCU community members will entertain, educate, and amaze. The pprogram begins at 1:00pmwith selected scenes from Shakespearean plays performed by students from the Department of Theatre and Dance, directed by Prof. Leonard Kelly. At 1:30pm, Dr. Mark Rimple will present a lecture and lute songs, followed at 2:00pmby a lecture entitled, "On (Re)Reading Shakespeare's Plays" given by Dr. John Ward of the English Department. We will then move on to Adam Wassel and Luke Stromberg at 2:30 (both graduate students in English), who will be reading and explicating two of Shakespeare's sonnets. Lastly, Library Director Dick Swain will be performing a few Shakespearean ballads at 2:45pm. He will then be speaking on and answering questions about the Shakespeare folios held in West Chester University Special Collections, which will be on display. These rare and valuable folios are not often available for public viewing, so don't miss your chance to see on the "treasures" of the University!
